Trojans Win Regular Season Finale

The Trojans finally have a little bit of momentum, and it's coming at the right time. The regular season ended Wednesday night vs Nug Squad, with the Trojans winning easily, 47-35. The Trojans came into the game with only one bench player, as they didn't have much notice before gametime. Trojan go-to man Josh Kesner scored a season-high 20 points. Captain Bryan Edwards added 14, playing the entire 2nd half with a busted nose after getting elbowed by an opposing player in the first half. Nathan Delawder scored 4, Chaz Teets popped a 3, and Matt Coen and Andy Wayne had 2 points each.

Trojans snap 3-game losing streak

The Trojans finally got a win Sunday night vs. the Spaniards after dropping three in a row last week. Sunday's game was close until the end, when the Trojans finally decided to quit messing around and put a W in the column. Bench scoring helped the Trojans, with Matt Woods scoring 6 points, Joseph Blomquist scoring 4, and Matt Coen scoring 2. Trojan regulars Josh Kesner, Bryan Edwards, and Nathan Delawer scored 17, 13, and 5 respectively. Andy Wayne added 4 points.

Last week was a disaster for the Trojans. The first game of the week was lost by 1 point, a game in which bench player Chaz Teets overcame his scoreless streak by scoring a bucket in the paint. The 2nd game was lost by 3 points, and the third game was called due to the mercy rule right before halftime.

With a 2-4 record, The Trojans are looking to give that extra little bit of extra effort to get any bit of momentum going into the playoffs.

Late Offensive Charge Leads Trojans to 50-39 win

On Monday, February 18th, 2008, The Trojans faced the Saltines, and rose to a .500 record of 1-1. Three of the normal Trojan starters sat on the bench at tipoff, and things got ugly quick. Within about 3 minutes, the normal starters came in and set the tone for the game. Trojan big men Josh Kesner and Nathan Delawder scored a combined 34 of 50 total points for the Trojans. Kesner led with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Delawder scored 16 points, 6 rebounds, and one assist. Team Captain Bryan Edwards scored 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in the game. Darrell Wright added 6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and fast man Andy Wayne added 3 points, 2 rebounds, and 8 assists.

The Trojans need practice, but we have no doubt that we will get better fast. With upcoming games against good teams, the Trojans are set to play some fine basketball.

Turnovers kill Trojans, hand victory to Hot Boyz

The Trojans have started off the season 0-1 thanks to turnovers and inconsistent calls by the referees. It's sad when a ref asks how many free throws you shoot when the opposite team is called for a technical foul. Thanks to those factors, the Trojans lost 41-38.

Trojan BIG man Josh Kesner led the team with 11 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kesner was repeatedly fouled under the basket, but apparently the refs had blinders on. Team captain Bryan Edwards scored 7 points, as did Andy Wayne, and other big man Nathan Delawder had 4 points. Darrell Wright and Joseph Blomquist scored 4 points each. Matt Poland, Chaz Teets, Matt Coen, and Matt Woods did not score in the game.

Pre-season Scrimmage

Last Monday night, the Trojans conquered the hardwood floors of Potomac State in their first scrimmage game of the season. Playing against the Saltines, it was clear who was the better team from the start. Quick scores by Josh Kesner and Andy Wayne set the tone for the remainder of the game. Buckets by Bryan Edwards and Darrell Wright continued the pounding, and several rebounds by Chaz Teets helped the cause. Trojan members Nathan Delawder, Matt Woods, and Joseph Blomquist were not available to play, but will be ready to roll come the season opener. Final score of the scrimmage was 20-6.

The Trojans will be playing their season opener next Thursday vs. the Hot Boyz.

Welcome

Hello and welcome to the official website of the PSC Intramural basketball team, The Trojans. The team will be competing in the 2008 basketball season against 13 other teams.

There is alot of talent on the team, starting with the big man, Josh Kesner. A pure monster in the paint, Kesner also brings down tons of boards as well. Look for Kesner to score plenty of points this season. Also, be on the lookout for Joseph Blomquist, who also plays well and hails from Hampshire County, as does Kesner. The final remaining big man on the team, Nathan Delawder, who hails from Hardy County, WV, is also sure to score points in the paint. All three are sure to have plenty of blocks as well.

Next we have without a doubt the best ball handler on the team, Bryan Edwards, who is also the team captain. Again, hailing from Hampshire Co, WV, Edwards blindsides defenses with his impressive dribbling skills and paint prowess. Edwards led the Deerslayers 2 basketball team in scoring last season.

Next we have the three-point specialist on the team, Chaz Teets. Teets, formerly from Hardy but now a Hampshire resident,as well as team Co-Captain, is sure to provide the majority of the rainmaker shots on the team. Teets seldom misses from beyond the arc if he is left wide open.

Next we have two all around good players, Darrell Wright and Matt Coen. Wright, from Pocahontas County, and Coen, from Whetzel County, are good players pretty much anywhere you put them. Be sure to be on the lookout for some good plays when these guys take to the court.

Finally, we come to the speed section of the team: Andy Wayne and Matt Woods. Both of which have a relatively small physical stature, they more than make up for their size with their quickness. Look for these guys to move the ball up the court quickly and steal passes.

The 2008 season is sure to be a doozy. Be sure to check back for updates and schedules as they become available.
